Psalm 100:4

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.                                                                                                                                                                   Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Basketball is back!

The basketball season is off to a rough start since many starters from last season graduated from CBCS. There are about 9 players on the girls team, and around 20 on the guys team JV and V combined. The girls team is run by Coach Ana, and the boys team is run by Dr. Martin, Pastor Clarisa, and Mr. Swinney. Several volleyball and soccer players from the beginning of the year have joined basketball as well. The first official game is against Palm Grove on the 19th, and a scrimmage that was planned for the 3rd was recently cancelled due to many teammates being absent. We’ll leave you with Dr. Martin’s own words: “We’re working hard, and we need the stands filled up every game.” We hope to see you at the first game in November!

New 7th Grade Math Teacher: Mr. Swinney

Here at Central we are welcoming an amazing new teacher, Mr. Swinney!

Mr. Swinney, our new 7th grade homeroom teacher, is teaching 7th grade math as well as substituting for other classes. He has lots of experience in teaching and has previously taught at East Bay Christian School, Freedom Academy, and Providence Baptist School. Mr. Swinney has taught an array of subjects including middle and high school math and history as well as coaching basketball and flag football. Along with an amazing sense of humor, Mr. Swinney also has experience in ministry. He  was saved on July 13th, 1996, and has been preaching since he was 19 years of age.
Also, if that is not enough, Mr. Swinney holds helps classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05 to 3:50.

We are very excited to have him at Central, and we hope to have an amazing year with him!

Two Mrs. Wests Are Better Than One!

We have a new teacher in our Central community, and her name is Mrs. Alexis West. She is our middle school science and drama teacher. She was inspired to be a science teacher because when she went to public school and took science, she realized that students need to know the truth. Evolution, when taught from a Christian worldview, can help teach students to discern what is right. Mrs. West also enjoyed drama in school and in college so it was a given that she would say yes to our drama elective. We are glad that we have an addition to our Central family. Welcome, Mrs. West! We are excited for the new outcomes God has planned for our school.
