The Lions Den

Wednesdays with Jesus!

Youth group activities have started for those in middle school and high school. Youth group is a place where you get to eat food (pizza), play games, worship, and learn more about God and His word.  As you might know we have welcomed Rondi Guess as the new youth group pastor. He is a father of 4 who graduated from Liberty University with a BA degree in religion. Adding on to the BA degree, he also has a MA from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Theological Studies. He was ordained and licensed from Balm Baptist Church in Balm, FL. As well as being ordained, he has filled the pulpit in many southern Baptist churches in the Tampa Bay area. Rondi has directed a singles group for most of his life.  He and his family have just become members here at Central Baptist Church.  If you do not have a youth group of your own, consider coming to Central Baptist every Wednesday evening. Youth group takes place in the gym from 6:30 to 8:15. Getting closer to God has to start from somewhere, so give it a try.  You wont regret it!

Artistic Aquatics

Mrs. Alford has been teaching art at Central for many years.  Her MS/HS Art elective always fills up quickly.  Highlighted here is a project completed early in the year.  What beautiful colors have been chosen by the students to illustrate just one of God’s amazing aquatic creatures–the octopus!

High School Sports Fall 2020

This year we were not expecting sports due to COVID-19, but God blessed us with two teams. Those teams are the High School Girls Volleyball team and the High School Guys Soccer team. These two teams have been training hard so they can do their best for Jesus Christ. Our soccer team is very hard working; they put in practice everyday. They have been working towards their tournament games. The volleyball team is working very diligently to win the tournament. Both teams are pleasing God by putting in lots of work for God. We pray that we have a successful season with God. <a href=”https://find-bride-review.net/” style=”text-decoration: none; color:#333″>find-bride</a>  <a href=”https://findbridecomments.org/” style=”text-decoration: none; color:#333″>find-bride</a>

P.E. . . . or not?

This year physical fitness was introduced as a new elective for the highschoolers. A majority of the students were expecting more of a P.E setting. Instead, they received more hardcore workouts involving cardio, legs, arms, etc.  Physical fitness is run by Coach Ana, and the class has about 10 or so students. It is recommended for athletes or anyone who likes to exercise. There’s no room to feel excluded because the class lets you switch with partners, and they’re very social. If you’re looking to find friends with a common interest of exercise, physical fitness is something to keep in mind for next year!

School Re-Opening Plans (July 9)

As you know, school districts across the country are working on re-opening plans for this coming school year, and we are no different. We have seen many scenarios based on several factors and we are also intent on opening with the health and welfare of every person on campus in mind. With that being said, our tentative plan begins with starting August 10th and with on-campus instruction.  The plan also calls for a renewed vigilance of sanitizing fervently and daily in all areas of the campus, focus on hygiene and handwashing, distancing as much as possible on campus, and daily temperature checks in certain areas. We are also looking into acquiring masks for use on campus if deemed necessary. We also ask for help by keeping students home if they have a fever to help mitigate the possibility of spreading a virus.  We will also have a contingency plan much like last semester to go to if the Department of Education decides schools statewide need to close for any particular reason or length of time. We understand this is a fluid situation and things change almost daily. As such if any updates occur they will be posted on the website.
