Sports Talk with Coach G!

Of the many electives offered here at Central, the Sports Management class is run by Coach G. The class consists of middle school and a few high schoolers. This elective focuses on preparing students for life after high school and living necessities. Coach G also talks about career and degree options related to the sports industry. A special guest will be introduced soon. Coach G will be bringing in his cousin, who is a pitcher for the New York Yankees organization.  Sports management is a fun elective with no homework, and that’s definitely a plus! They do have class discussions and fun projects.

Lions of the Office

Have you ever wondered just what is the glue that keeps this school together? We have to give thanks for the wonderful ladies in our office. We asked Mrs. Craven what she does on a daily basis.  Among other things she answers phone calls, checks in tardy students, arranges substitute teachers, and calls students out from classes when they have to leave early.  “What’s your favorite part of working at CBCS?”  Mrs. Craven loves to see students who come through the office with big smiles on their faces.  She also loves listening in when our students sing in chapel.  We would like to thank Mrs. Young, Mrs. Acevedo, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Formont, and Mrs. Craven for all of their hard work.

Our Lion Cubs of Preschool

What makes our preschool classes special?  We asked some of the teachers here at Central about their students.  The first question was about what preschoolers do throughout the day.  Mrs. Longagnecker answered that her students learn through playing and doing activities.  Another question was for the students. “What is your favorite trait about your teacher?” One of the students said that “the teachers get them to understand the Bible.” Then another student replied, “My teacher is nice to me.”  Thank you to Mrs. Longanecker, Mrs. Proctor, Mrs. Sherrill, Mrs. Boyle, and Mrs. Petit for making a daily impact on such a dynamic generation.

New Secondary Math Teacher: Mr. Smythe

Mr. Smythe is a new “addition” to our Central family. He is from Jamaica and has been teaching for 41 years; he started when he was only 19. His favorite thing about Central is teaching kids about math (the greatest subject on earth). He teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. He is a phenomenal teacher and a great mathematician. Mr. Smythe’s favorite sport is Cricket and he enjoys playing it as well as refereeing it; he is also a member of the ICC (International Cricket Council). He used to teach at Eisenhower Middle School and has subbed at other schools too. He currently goes to church at First Assembly of God and has been saved since he was 19. We all love him as a teacher and we are very glad to have him at Central. <a href=”https://find-bride-review.net/” style=”text-decoration: none; color:#333″>find-bride</a>  <a href=”https://findbridecomments.org/” style=”text-decoration: none; color:#333″>find-bride</a>
